NNHS Class of '55 Photo Galleries

This section of the Web site displays photographs provided by members of the NNHS Class of ’55 and other sources when we can find them. At the moment, there are seven different photo galleries identified, but we reserve the right to change this from time to time as more material becomes available or we just get tired of the same old format. Not all of the galleries have photos yet, but this will be remedied when we get submissions from class members.

Good quality photos take a lot of storage space on the server’s hard drive, and we have purchased only so much. Consequently, the pictures in each gallery will change over time with a frequency that is commensurate with the quantity of material provided by our classmates. We hope they change a lot.

Most of the pictures in the galleries are thumbnails—pictures that are large enough to see generally what they contain, but small enough to get a whole bunch on a single page. When one strikes your fancy, click on it and you will be hyperlinked to a larger version of the photo which has comments by the photo supplying classmate (if any), the quips supplied for that photo by various classmates, the photo’s identification (so you can supply your own quips or comments), and the best identification of the people in the picture that we have.

At the bottom of the "Quips" page there is a "Back" button and a "Make Quips, Etc." button. Please send us your own (classmates only) quips or comments to add to the photo. Note that such quips and comments will be attributed to the supplying party, so give us your name as you want it to appear in the text.

We have also used a packaged Photo Gallery feature provided by Microsoft for groups of pictures.  This is a quicker and easier (but still laborious) way to get the photos on the site.  These mini-Photo Galleries have the thumbnails along the top and arrow tabs on either side if there are more thumbnails than will fit the width of the page.  Click an arrow to scroll to a new thumbnail.  Click on any thumbnail to see the larger version of the photo.

We also need help from all viewers of the site in identifying people in the pictures. If you are viewing the picture and know someone that has not been identified or see a misidentification, please let us know by using the "Make Quips, Etc." button.

Within the limits of our purchased space and the practicality of editing and maintaining the galleries, we will endeavor to keep pictures displayed as long as possible before archiving them.

The displayed photos will be annotated with whatever information we have been supplied by the providing classmate. Comments and quips, where there are any, are identified as to the originator, which adds some fun to picture viewing.

Some photo pages got too big and required additional pages to prevent incessant waiting for the page to download to your Web browser.  In these cases, the main page is clearly marked to indicated additional pages of photos and a button link is provided to get you there.  Even with this tactic, dial-up connections will probably be slow.

To get to a Photo Gallery, just click on a button below.  To return to this list, click on the Return button at the bottom of the Photo Gallery page.
