Welcome to the Web site of the
Newport News High School Class of 1955. We posted
this Web site as a start for our fiftieth reunion in
2005, and we are maintaining it to publish photos
supplied by class members and to keep everyone informed
of current and future activities planned by the reunion
committee.
In 2007 the committee
elected Kiddy Dickens Starboard to be its new
chairperson. Kiddy has taken the reigns and the
committee has had two meetings to discuss possible
future events. Kiddy and the committee has issued
an invitation to all class members (email and postal
notification to all class members for which we have a
correct address) to join in the mostly fun and little
business get-togethers of the committee. The first
get-together is scheduled for June 7, 2007. To see
a copy of the notification, the schedule
details, and photos, click on the What's New? or Monthly Meeting
buttons on the left.
Since this site is
still on the
Web, we
will continue to use it to find missing classmates. No doubt
many other alumni of Newport News High School will visit
this site and have some kind of connection with those
class members we haven’t been able to find. We hope so.
Please take the time to review our Missing Classmates
(button on the left) list to see if you have a clue as
to their whereabouts. If you have some knowledge you
think might aid us, send us an e-mail.
All of the gateway pages on the
Web site are listed on the left under Web Site Features,
and you can navigate to them by simply clicking your
mouse on the place you want to go. Once you get there,
you might find that there are multiple layers of
information associated with that gateway page, but
getting to these lower levels will always be apparent
through buttons or highlighted hyperlinks you can click
on. Every page and sub-page, no matter how deep, has a
button at the bottom that will take you back to this
home page, so you shouldn’t get lost.
The addresses of all classmates
can be found by clicking on the Addresses item in the
index. We have provided only the addresses in an effort
to have some measure of privacy on a site available to
anyone in the world with a computer. If you are a
classmate, send us an e-mail or letter requesting e-mail
addresses of all classmates that have given us
permission, and
we will send you one. If you are not a classmate and
wish a specific e-mail address, send us your address and
we will pass it on to the classmate you are seeking to
contact.
To contact the
Web site staff for
any reason, click on the Contact Us button on the left. You will
find a complete set of instructions for how to do it.
Meanwhile, explore—and have fun.
